Recreation of the blog

It's been 2-3 years since the original virtualflavius.com was shutdown.

A lot has happened naturally, but knowledge gathering is still one of my favorites.

I decided to recreate the virtualflavius.com blog and knowledge sharing system because I have a lot of new ideas, articles and outputs I'd like to share with the world. The system itself is also intended to be built on top of things I've realized in the past few years.

My original system was managed with Movable Type (blog) and PurpleWiki (wiki). This time I've decided to use Blogger for the blog, which is a static publishing format, instead of a dynamic system, and I will implement other solutions to complement it into a knowledge sharing system.
I'm currently hosting my domain on FreeHostia free web space hosting which is a banner-free hosting service that is great for the 1st phase, until the blog regains popularity and a paid hosting scheme will be used. I think this is something that was very hard to get a few years ago. I hope it proves to be a good decision.
Another thing I did was purchase and manage the domain name through Yahoo! small business. I think their prices are fair and the administration panel is fast and easy to use. I got my domain for just 2$ for the 1st year!!!

What I've been doing in the past 3 years
I've gone deeper into the study of electronic art and been performing as a VJ in concerts and parties. My research started with the wonderful open-source Gephex app and continued to Arkaos and FreeFrame. Recently I've been using FFrend to build my own meta-FreeFrames. I think It's a revolutionary tool that has changed my perception of what can and should be done while VJing. Since VirtualFlavius is my online research nick, I've adopted a separate name as a VJ - VJ Tailor.

I've invested some time in studying linear algebra and mechanics (physics) and at the moment studying Processing: Creative Coding and Computational Art (Foundation). I think it's a very extensive book for people who are truly interested in studying the basics of computer graphic programming using the Processing environment. If you're already a graphics programmer and/or well acquainted with the math/physics involved, it may be not be for you.

I intend to share some pictures of my work and links/local copies of documents I've published elsewhere soon.
